(KFOR NEWS  September 25, 2019)  Nebraska Community Blood Bank (NCBB) relies on help from the local community to maintain the blood supply.  Every two seconds, someone needs blood – from heart transplants and cancer patients to accident victims and premature babies. Only volunteer blood donors can make a life-saving difference to someone in need. And, nearly 100% of the blood donated with NCBB is transfused to patients in Nebraska hospitals.  New and returning donors, especially type O, are urgently needed to step up and give blood.

You may be eligible  to donate blood if you are:
• In good health
• 17 years or older—16 with written parental consent (PDF)
• Free of antibiotics for 24 hours, unless taken for preventative reasons
• Symptom-free for at least 72 hours following a cold or flu

While walk-in donors are always welcome, we encourage donors to make appointments in advance. Visit
NCBB.ORG or call 1-877-486-9414 to make an appointment today at your local donor center or any of the
upcoming October blood drives below.
